Townshend motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

TOWNSHEND — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries in Townshend on July 24.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 30 near Ritchies Road at around 4:23 p.m.

According to the report, a truck crashed into a motorcycle, and the motorcyclist, identified as Daniel S. Mager, 44, of Townshend, was severely injured.

Police say Mager was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

The second driver, identified as Kevin Barton, 58, of Newfane, and his passenger was not injured.

Police say Barton was found to be driving with a criminally suspended license and was issued a citation to appear in court to answer for the charge.

State Police were assisted by the Townshend Fire Dept, Rescue Inc, and the Windham County Sheriff’s Office.
