WESTMINSTER — Police say a 19-year-old driver from Connecticut was processed for excessive speed and negligent operation in Westminster yesterday.

Police say they observed a vehicle on I-91 south, traveling at 103 miles-per-hour through traffic in the posted 65 miles-per-hour zone, at around 5:30 p.m.

Police say they caught up to and followed the vehicle as it continued to travel in excess of 100 miles-per-hour.

Police stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Reid Dammeyer, of Fairfield, CT.

During a search of the vehicle, police say they found marijuana and THC extract, which is not legal due to his age.

He was processed for excessive speed and negligent operation and also issued Diversion paperwork for the marijuana possession.
