Newfane woman injured during snowmobile crash, Guilford

GUILFORD — A 47-year-old Newfane woman was injured in a snowmobile crash in Guilford yesterday.

Police were notified of a crash that took place at the Guilford Fair Grounds off Weatherhead Hollow Road at around 1:40 p.m.

It was reported that a woman driving a snowmobile had crashed into a concrete barrier in the field, police say.

According to the report, Marie Covey was driving a snowmobile on the grounds of the Guilford Fair with another rider.

Police say while driving through a field and attempting a turn to the left, the left front corner of the snowmobile hits the concrete barrier causing Covey to be ejected from the snowmobile.

She was transported to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained to her back and left leg.
