SPRINGFIELD — A 27-year-old woman from Massachusetts is facing charges including DUI following a crash in Springfield yesterday.
The single-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 91 south at around 6:42 p.m.
Police identified the driver as Caitlin J. Greve of Williamsburg, MA.
According to the report, Greve was headed south on Interstate 91, when she veered off the road and crashed into a body of water at the bottom of the median.
Police say Greve sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.
Following an investigation, police found that Greve had been operating under the influence of alcohol with two animals in the rear passenger seat of her vehicle.
Police arrested Greve and transported her to the State Police Barracks in Westminster for processing.
She was issued a criminal citation to answer to the charges of driving under the influence, cruelty to animals, and possession and control of regulated drugs.
