Driver charged with DUI, disorderly conduct in Putney

PUTNEY — A 47-year-old Williston man was arrested following an incident in Putney yesterday.

Police were notified of a vehicle that was blocking a business on Main Street at around 11:51 a.m.

According to the complainant, the driver appeared to be passed out behind the wheel.

The driver was identified as Marc Murphy.

Police say he was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Murphy was transported by ambulance to the hospital to be evaluated.

Police say he acted disorderly by yelling profanities and was disruptive to other occupants of the hospital while receiving medical treatment.

He was arrested and brought to the Westminster State Police barracks for processing.

After processing, he was released with a citation to appear in court on July 28 to answer to the charges of DUI and disorderly conduct.
