Bellows Falls Woman’s Club to start meetings September 10

BELLOWS FALLS — Members of the Bellows Falls Woman’s Club will be holding their first meeting of the new club year on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Meetings will take place at the United Church on School Street, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The Bellows Falls club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

The program will be presented by Susan Shapiro of Valley Cares, located in Townshend.

Since meeting in May the club presented its $1,500 high school scholarship to Brigid Hodsden.

During the summer, the Executive Board met to plan programs, establish committees and formulate a budget that will be voted on at the Sept. 10 meeting.

In July, the club also held a food and bake sale in conjunction with the Walpole (N.H.) Historical Society’s summer fair.
