Police: Cavendish man arrested after assault with souvenir baseball bat

CAVENDISH — A 46-year-old man was arrested for aggravated assault following an incident in Cavendish yesterday.

Police were notified of an assault that occurred at the Cavendish Transfer Station, located on Vermont Route 131, at around 4:58 p.m.

Brendan McNamara, Cavendish Town Manager reported that there was an altercation between John J. Pisciotta, and Ronald E. Bates, 68, both of Cavendish.

Following an investigation, police found that Pisciotta had assaulted Bates with a souvenir baseball bat after an argument ensued over past dealings at the scene.

Police arrested Pisciotta for aggravated assault.

He was released with a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in court on July 16 to answer to the above charges.
