Rutland man facing charges after assault in Clarendon

CLARENDON — A 25-year-old Rutland man is facing multiple charges following an incident in Clarendon on Sunday.

Police were notified of an assault that occurred at the Clarendon gorge at around 8:30 p.m.

Following an investigation, police allege that Cody Richardson caused serious bodily injury to Thomas Burnell, 22, of Rutland.

Richardson was in violation of an abuse prevention order pertaining to having contact with another person during the incident.

He was issued a citation to appear at court on July 21 to answer to the charges of aggravated assault, and violation of an abuse prevention order.
