Poultney man arrested after firing gun toward occupied home

POULTNEY — A 19-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Poultney on August 29.

Police were notified of gunshots near a home on York Street Extension at around 7:38 p.m.

Police say that Julian Layton, of Poultney, recklessly endangering another person when he discharged a firearm in the direction of an occupied home.

While investigating the reckless endangerment offense, police found that prior domestic assault incidents, where they allege that Layton caused the victim pain and injury.

Police say these assaults took place at various locations in Poultney.

He was arrested on the charges of first degree aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
