Clarendon man arrested for DUI following police chase in Rutland

RUTLAND — A 31-year-old Clarendon man was arrested on multiple charges including eluding a police officer following an incident in Rutland on Wednesday.

Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle at around 12:45 p.m.

The driver, later identified as Andrew Coco, allegedly lead police on a high-speed pursuit.

Police say Coco failed to stop for police and pulled into a driveway where he was apprehended.

He was subsequently screened for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody.

He was also charged with the careless and negligent operation and attempting to elude a police officer.

He was released on a citation to appear in court at a later date.
