ARLINGTON — A man and a woman from California were arrested in Arlington yesterday.

Police were alerted that a family and young child were residing in a second home of the victim on Emmaus Road.

Investigators allege that Cody B. Cooper, 39, of Fortuna, CA, and Brianna R. Nazarijchuk, 29, also of Fortuna, forcefully gained entry into the building where they resided inside for approximately one week.

Police say Cooper restrained an elderly man and placed him in fear for his life while attempting to steal car keys from him.

While on the scene, police found that Cooper damaged property inside the residence and attempted to deny access to emergency services.

Police arrested Cooper and Nazarijchuk and transported them to the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Both were held on $10,000.00 bail and the child was placed into emergency DCF custody.
