ARLINGTON — A 21-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Arlington yesterday.
Police say they observed a truck spinning its tires and causing a lot of smoke and noise while patrolling Route 7A at around 1:15 a.m.
The truck took off at a high rate of speed when police initiated their sirens, traveling at 85 miles-per-hour in a posted 35 miles-per-hour zone.
The truck then had a mechanical error causing it to stop after one and a half miles, police say.
After making contact with the operator, identified as Ethan Olson, of Arlington, signs of alcohol impairment were observed.
Olson was arrested for the charges of DUI, excessive speed, negligent operation, and eluding police.
